I knew Handsome had planned something special for our anniversary weekend. He told me we were staying local, so I would know how to pack. This year has been extremely hard for both of us. More difficult than either of us thought 2016 would be. This anniversary weekend was going to be our time to forget our pain {or at least try} for a little while, and just be present with each other.
It didn’t take too long to realize we were headed to Southern California’s wine counrty, Temecula. It’s a beautiful place with over 300 acres of mature vineyards and rolling hills. We have been there countless times before {like this time}, but this was different. As we drove closer and closer to our destination I could see the excitment on Handsome’s face.
We arrived! Ponte Vineyard Inn, a quaint 60 room boutique hotel. Ohhh, someplace new! I love going to and trying out new places. As we pulled into the driveway and drove over the gravel parking lot lined with olive trees, immediately I felt transported from my life to a place far, far away with my one true love.
Just looking at the regal wood arched front door makes you know you are going to have a beautiful time.
Upon entry we were greeted by a casual relaxed setting, almost like entering someones home.
Handsome checked us in and I went outside to look at the grounds. The view is breathtaking! We arrived just after a wedding was preformed. The flowers were stunning!
Handsome met me outside with a glass of sparkling wine. We just sat for a moment and enjoyed the view sipping our sparkling wine and taking in the views.
I couldn’t wait to see our room. As soon as we walked in we were greated by a bottle of their Tempranillo wine. It was so very kind of the Ponte Inn to have a gift of wine waiting for us. I knew what we would be drinking with our Anniversary dinner.
The bed! So comfy!
The view from our balcony. I took this photo just as the sun was going down. We sat out on our balcony for hours, just talking {my second favorite thing to do with Handsome}.
We did a bit of wine tasting and suprisingly Ponte Vineyard was the only winery we visited on that weekend. Their wines are so delicious and their grounds are so spectular there was no reason to go anywhere else!
I found a ton of items I brought back as Christmas gifts!
Thank you Ponte Vineyard Inn.
We had a fantastic time and I know one day we will be back!

**This is NOT a sponsored post. Handsome & I stayed here, paid the bill and had a wonderful time. I thought you would like to know about a great place to stay while you are visiting Temecula, CA.
The Ponte Inn looks like a fantastic place to stay. Wine…need I say more… Steve and I will be looking into this as a destination in the near future.
The pictures are amazing! Looks like a fun stay!

What a great place! I grew up in Southern California and I’ve never been there before.
This place looks amazing! A little oasis to unplugged and enjoy some good vino! Adding it to my travel list 🙂
Looks like you had a wonderful time! Glad you got time away just to enjoy each other!
I love Ponte and have been going there for years! I grew up in Temecula and enjoy everything the wineries have to offer. It sounds like you had an amazing time… you are one lucky girl! Thanks for sharing!

So fun to see Ponte here. I live in Temecula and love it here. Our wineries are really growing and there is plenty to do especially for couples between the horseback rides, wine tasting, hot air balloons, Pechanga and Old Town. Hope you loved it as much as I do.
I do enjoy visiting Temecula. Handsome and I did a hot air balloon ride about 4 years ago and it was awesome! Such beautiul landscape.
Lovely Vineyard! There are some really cool places here in Italy (I am an Indian expat in Italy enjoying La Dolce Vita). The best thing is the wine is so cheap and plus you have a great assortment of cheese to try along. I totally recommend a visit to Florence where you can Bike all the way to the beautiful estates and vineyards.
I would love that! It has been way too long since I have visited. Italy is the perfect place to be living the sweet life!
