If you are near Redondo Beach, CA or within 100 miles (it’s really worth the drive), have a hankering for a great, and I mean great hamburger and fries, have I got a place for you!
Now, this isn’t your normal hamburger joint. It is tucked away in the back of Catalina liquor store. I know, I know, that might sound weird (because it is). But, once you get over the initial shock of it all and taste one of their burgers, I promise you will go back for more.
I ordered the “Dressed” burger- it is a ½ pound Pattie with bacon, caramelized onions, spring mix, bleu cheese, smoked Gouda cheese, fried egg, tomato jam and Korean Aioli. The way the flavors mixed together are like a symphony in your mouth! I wasn’t sure if I would like the fried egg on my burger but it was wonderful!
There is one more item on the menu you MUST (sorry I’m yelling, it’s just that good) try. Wait for it…Truffle Parmesan Fries. Words cannot explain how good these are. Last time I was there with my daughter, we got the order to go and ate in the car for our hour-long drive home. We had finished our double order of fries and still had some of the truffle and Parmesan in the bottom of the bag. I hate to admit this, but we stopped at the golden arches ordered a large fries and dropped them in to what was left of the truffles and Parmesan, it is that good!
