Last week I had the pleasure of going somewhere I had never been, although I’d driving by almost daily for years and years.

Sherman Library & Gardens

Sherman Library & Gardens is a 2.2 acre botanical jewel.  It is located on the highly populated and busy Pacific Coast Highway in Corona Del Mar, California,  amidst all the boutiques, coffee houses, home specialty shops and exclusive showrooms, sits this unassuming natural beauty of over 1500 plants.  As soon as you walk through the gates you are transported to a different moment in time.  The beauty of the grounds calms you and your sense of smell is heightened with every breath.  The flowers fragrant scent wafts through the grounds as if someone was delicately spraying perfume.

I can go on and on about how beautiful this garden is but, I would rather show you.

Sherman Library & Gardens Pink Rose

This pink rose was so large. I can just imagine of having a whole bouquet of these on my entry table.

Sherman Library & Gardens Purple Rose

I have always loved the lavender rose, it’s one of my favorites.

Sherman Library & Gardens Fox Gloves

Sherman Library & Gardens watering Otter

This little otter is absolutely adorable.  If you look closely at the bottom left of the picture you can see a few of the many turtles that live in the pond.

Sherman Library & Gardens Fuzzy Red

I don’t know the name of this plant.  I thought is was so cute!

Sherman Library & Gardens Hanging Flowers

Sherman Gardens have many hanging plants that are for sale.  So you can bring the beauty of the gardens home with you.

Sherman Library & Gardens Pink Orchid

The tropical conservatory houses orchids and

Sherman library & Gardens Palms

ferns, and

Sherman Library & Gardens Koi Pond

an incredible koi pond.  These koi had the brightest colors I have ever seen and they were huge.  I don’t know why there were cut lemons in the pond, no koi went near them when I was viewing them.

Sherman Library & Gardens Succulents in Stair (When you visit, make sure you look in between the steps leading to the patio area.  There are small succulents hiding/growing in between the stairs.  This is so adorable, I wish I had steps outside so I can copy this.

Sherman Library & Gardens Wisteria (

Wisteria!

So graceful.

Wisteria has a lovely sweet scent that slightly reminds me of vanilla.
