On Friday morning after Handsome left for another long day of business meetings, I decided to explore what San Diego treasures I could find on the walking path that I could see from our hotel room.
About 10 minutes into my walk I came upon the most adorable little village, Seaport Village, San Diego. When I first came upon the village I thought it would have a few cute little shops and a couple of restaurants.
I soon realized it was quite large with 54 one of a kind quaint shops and 17 choices of restaurants and casual dining eateries.
In fact, there are 4 miles of meandering cobblestone pathways adorned with beautiful landscaping of ponds and waterfalls all located right off the bay in San Diego.
I was so excited to see this antique carousel. All the carousel animals were hand carved in 1895 by Charles Loof. Isn’t it amazing that something so very old is still running today delighting children and adults alike and the cost is only $2.00?
As a child, and still today, my favorite carousel animal is the Horse.
How cute is this baby bear?
The gazebo is one of the venues for entertainment at Seaport Village. Check out their monthly calendar.
Each shop has their own wood carved shop marquis.
There is even an old time scale that you can weigh yourself on!
I am definitely not weighing myself in public {I don’t even like to do that in private}.
How adorable is this little yellow house with a shake roof ATM?
The San Diego SEAL tour is a 90 minute wild ride through the picturesque streets of San Diego before splashing into the waters of the San Diego Harbor all within the comfort of your seat on the SEAL Hydra-Terras {car/boat}! While in the harbor you will learn about the rich military history of San Diego. And you can catch a tour right here in Seaport Village.
So next time you are in the San Diego area don’t miss Seaport Village. It’s a great way to spend the day!
