It’s Winery Wednesday!
Our 8th winery on the tour brings us to…
PEJU
When you first drive onto the property you are greeted by an embrace of Sycamore Trees which gently bend in the direction of the wind. Peju winery is located in one of the most unique buildings located in Napa Valley. The tower of the building is 50 ft. high. The building is surrounded by several fountains, gardens, and a reflective pool. You will walk through a metal sculpture that reminds me of a bottle of wine, as you enter onto the property from the parking area.
One of the many water features located on the grounds. It is lovely to walk by this fountain as you enter the winery.
The entrance door to the winery is hand carved and depicts a scene from Greek mythology. Inside the tasting room the tile floor has been imported from Turkey.
Don’t you just love this beautiful garden gate? The garden grounds are a vision of Tony Peju (his life long hobby) and are maintained by Herta Peju. Chances are, you will see Herta planting and pruning the garden on a daily basis.
I fell in love with this outdoor entaining area located amongst the vineyards. I would love to have dinner at sunset there.
Many wine barrels were outside as the winery was in the midst of the harvest. The very nice staff member allowed Handsome and I to go in the back of the winery where the harvest process was happening.
I was so enthralled by the process I forget to take pictures!
One of my favorite wines at Peju was, Liana, Orange Muscat. I just love dessert wines and this one was especially yummy. I really loved the hint of orange and ginger. A perfect dessert wine to enjoy with some after dinner cheeses and fruit!

The grounds of this winery are amazing!
What great photos Mary! I want to go to this winery just to see that building (and take some photos and make puzzles out of them :)!)
Ruth, I would love to see a cranium puzzle with pictures of this winery.
LOVE the garden! I can imagine a glass in hand while pruning the roses. Heavenly.
There are so many beautiful places to have a glass of wine on the grounds of this winery.
