Historic Spanish Villa in San Clemente, CA Part 1

P&B view

Welcome to the beautiful Spanish Village by the Sea, San Clemente, Ca.

P&B house

This is an original Ole Hanson Villa.

Lore has it, Ole Hanson built this original home for his daughter, as a wedding gift in 1928.  I was lucky enough to tour the home pre-renovation {I wish I would have brought my camera during that tour, you would have seen the spectacular transformation.  Lesson learned!} Notice the beautiful Bougainvillea, it is the official flower of San Clemente.

The charming walk to the front door is graced with elegant greenery and a beautiful bench to sit and enjoy the moment.

P&B original fountain

This spectacular fountain, which is original to the home was brought back to it’s pristine beauty, by the homeowners.

P&B front door Collage

From the moment you walk up to this ornate front door, you notice the exquisite detail in every little element.

P&B formal livingdiningdoors Collage

The formal living room and dining room take full advantage of the marvelous view. The homeowners took complete advantage of every angle of the stunning seascape by putting in fold back doors.

P&B wine cellar Collage

The wine room is brimming with handsome touches, from the granite counter tops to the hand-laid curved brick ceiling, which was designed by the homeowner.  The blue Venetian Plaster walls and hand made tiles add that old world charm.

P&B kitchen

My favorite room in any home is always the kitchen, and what a delightful kitchen this is.  Don’t you just love the ceiling beams?  I’m sure the Wolf Range is a dream to cook with as well as the Sub-Zero Refrigerator and Freezer units.

P&B family room looking into kitchen

The family room is just a few steps down from the kitchen, giving unobstructed views to both rooms.

P&B family room fireplace

The arched dark wood doors are one of my favorite features of this home along with the hand painted tiles throughout the home.

The view from the family room.

P&B guest bathroom

I love the low profile of this sink and how the faucets come out of the Venetian Plastered wall, in this main floor guest powder room.

P&B original room collage

This area of the home was kept as close to original as possible.  This is a suite area with a dining room, living room, guest bedroom and guest bathroom.

The statue in the top right picture is truly amazing, it is attached to the wall and raised a bit, she is a stunning work of art.  The ornate iron rod runs the with of the room.  The sconce is an original fixture, such amazing detail.  I love this arched door that leads to the guest bedroom, it is only 6′ tall.  People were much smaller in those days.

 P&B hallway to master wing

Doesn’t this area have amazing light?  And storage!  A woman’s dream come true.

P&B bed bath Collage

This Master Bedroom and Master Bath would make anyone feel like a King and Queen!  Notice the stone wall with the glass votives that illuminate the master bath when lit.  That is one romantic master bath.

P&B master deck

The master deck has everything one would need.  On a credenza to the right of the fireplace is the coffee maker and mini fridge.  Swoon!

This picture says it all!  Morning coffee would never be the same!
