Handsome and I have been invited to go Glamping this summer.  Just so you know I DON’T camp!  There are no if, ands, or buts about it.  But, when our friends came to us with this “glamping” invitation I was intrigued. They told us that Handsome and I would be staying in our very own 31-foot Airstream trailer.  Have you ever seen one of those beauties? I know…weird. I don’t camp yet I think an Airstream is beautiful!

Now this is the type of camping; or glamping as they call it, I can do. However, there is one drawback. There is no place to wash our clothes.  Normally when we go on vacation I bring a huge laundry bag and as we dirty our clothes we shove them in the bag. Then all we need to do when we get home is throw the bag in the laundry room. When we are ready to wash all the dirty clothes they are together in one bag and not in different suitcases mixing with the clean clothes I never ended up wearing.

I thought it would be nice to be able to wash my delicates while I’m gone so I don’t have to throw them in with the big pile of dirty clothes.

Enter Avalon Bay… They make this really cool portable (18’ high, 16” wide, & 17.5” long, when fully assembled) non-electric hand powered washing machine.

Glamping And My EcoWash

It’s lightweight and washes about 5 lbs of laundry in about 2 minutes.

Glamping And My EcoWash

The EcoWash’s pressurized cleaning technology gently cleans your clothes and removes the toughest stains. It only uses a couple of tablespoons of detergent per load depending on the size of your load. Because there are no agitators, it is extremely gentle on your clothes (that is why it is so great for your delicates).

Here’s what I washed.  The stains were removed and the clothes came out smelling clean.

  • 3 pairs of socks
  • 2 pairs of shorts
  • 3 t-shirts
  • 2 shirts
