Handsome and I spent a few days in Las Vegas recently. I was determined this time to find a few new places to eat and explore {goodies, that is}. Prior to us leaving, I went on good old trusty YELP and did some investigating. I came across a few places that sounded good, one sounded great. I knew we must give that one a try.
The Chocolate & Spice Bakery. It’s a little distance off the strip, but definitely worth the drive.
When I first walked into the Chocolate & Spice Bakery, I was taken in by the delightful aroma of pastries and how adorable it was decorated.
Off to the right of the entrance, is an cozy area perfect for sitting back and chatting with your best friend. The high back chairs look as though they are made for long scuttlebutt sessions. I love the plush zebra fabric.
Off to the left, are the tables for dining and the counter where all the sinful desserts are.
The dessert area seems to go on forever, everywhere you look is another tempting dessert {we’ll get to those in a bit} Let’s first talk about what we had for lunch.
I had the chicken salad wrap. It’s was the most scrumptious wrap I’ve ever had. It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. My mouth still waters when I think about it. I can’t wait to go back to Las Vegas just so I can eat it again!
Handsome ordered the Black Forest Ham and Cheese Croissant. Equally as tasty {although I liked mine more}. The croissant was so tender and buttery, it melted in my mouth. The gruyere cheese was melted perfectly and there was just the right amount of black forest ham. Definitely a winner!
I think I know the secret of why everything is so yummy at Chocolate & Spice Bakery, Megan Romano. Megan received the Pastry Chef of the Year award, 2012 and authored the book “it’s a sweet life”.
And speaking of sweets…
O.K. 3 sweets and 1 savory. The flatbread looked so divine, I had to include it. The Strawberry Parfait is a work of art. I love the square containers, don’t you? What ever dessert you choose, I’m sure it will be a delight.
If you live in Las Vegas or just visiting, make sure you stop by.
