Looking for a unique twist in your next dining experience? Bruxie gourmet waffles is a destination for you. Their menu is filled with tasty items you wont find anywhere else. I live within about 30 minutes of all their locations, but found out about this adorable place by reading one of my favorite blogs, Kevin & Amanda. Amanda wrote such a glowing review, I knew I had to give it a try.

The location I visited was in Old Town Orange; to start with, that area is so adorable, its like you are transported to a different era. I was lucky enough to score a great parking spot in the back of the restaurant, there are only a few, so I suggest going there on off times, as it does get quite busy. I was greeted by a very kind host by the name of Justin (see pictured below), he was extremely helpful and explained the menu items while we stood in line. Once you place your order, you find a seat and the host will bring your food to you.<!–more–>

And here is just a sample of their items that I tried. (I did have a couple of my family members with me; did you think I ate this all by my self?)

Bacon, Egg & Cheddar, the waffle is cooked perfectly, not too crispy and not soggy, the applewood bacon adds that wonderful flavor only bacon can add. Everything is better with bacon!

Bruxie gourmet waffle Burger, angus beef patty with cheddar cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. I wasn’t sure how I would like a hamburger on a waffle. I like it, a lot! Definitely a good choice!

Pastrami and Prosciutto Hash with Egg and Gruyere Cheese, It was very tasty.

And for dessert…Drum roll please, this was excellent! Wait for it…Chocolate filled Liege with dark Belgian Chocolate and caramelized Pearl Sugar with strawberry’s on the side. There are rods of Belgian Dark Chocolate that run through the length of the waffle. This was so yummy, I’m still thinking about it.

I must admit, since the initial time I went here, I have been back twice. I will also suggest trying the soft serve frozen custard. Justin game me a sample and it was so rich and creamy, it is definitely on my list to order next time.
