Spring is not that far away even though good ‘ol Punxsutawney Phil says it’s going to be 5 more weeks of winter. That doesn’t mean you can’t start to getting ready for Spring cleaning now.
In fact, now is the perfect time.
Everyone cleans their home, at least from time to time, but have you ever cleaned your home of negative energy? Once you perform the cleansing, you definitely can feel the energy of the space lifted, it seems brighter, and the air circulates better. You don’t have to wait for Spring to do this type of cleaning.
Just a few of the times you should do this cleaning in your home:
- After a divorce, break-up, or someone moves out
- Once you have removed clutter from your home
- You have moved into a new space
- When you have bought a second-hand item or received an antique
- After a large party
- When someone has had an illness or died
- After an argument
- If you are feeling sad
- You have negative feelings
- Prior to implementing feng shui
Here are 5 simple ways to clear that negative energy from your home:
Air Out Everything
Open all the windows and doors. Create a draft through your home to let the outside fresh air move freely though your home, even if it’s freezing outside. Fresh air is everything!
Repair Or Get Rid Of Broken Things
Broken items keep that negative air flowing in your home or office space. Either fix or donate those items to get rid of their negative energy.
Remove Clutter As Soon As Possible
Doesn’t it feel great when you clean a space? “Things” retain a lot of energy and can block our path forward. Cluttered areas can also make you feel tired emotionally and physically.
Salt The Corners Of Each Room
I know it sounds strange for those who have never heard of this. The salt absorbs the negative energy. Do this especially if you have moved into a previous owned home. Pour salt into the four corners of each room and let it sit for 48 hours, then either sweep or vacuum the salt and throw it away in the trash outside of your home.
Protect Your Entrances
Windows and doors are entrances to all kinds of energy. To make sure only the positive energy is entering, you must sure these areas are clean. To do this, fill a bucket with water, Juice from 4 lemons, 1/4 of a cup of white vinegar, and 1/2 cup of salt. Wiping down the doorknobs and windows with the mixture. Then pour salt by all the entrances to your home. Cover the salt with a door mat so the negative energy does not enter your home.
Now that your home is clean and free of negative engery enjoy all that Spring has to offer!
Until Next Time…
XOXO
De-cluttering and airing out your home really work to get rid of negative energy. Especially on sunny days 🙂
Very interesting _ I am about to move into a new (well an old, but new to us) house. I’ll definitely be trying these! Can it just be regular table salt (for the corners of the room) or do you recommend any particular kind?
Congratulations on the move! I’ve used table salt and sea salt, I don’t think there is a difference on the brand or type of salt.
These are all great!! I’ve heard about using salt I will have to try it!!
It’s crazy how just getting some fresh air and opening the doors and windows can refresh a place.
I love this post! I am in the process of getting rid of negative energy myself so this was helpful 🙂

Thank you. I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for sharing these great tips. I just moved into a new apartment, so it’s the perfect time to clear out an residual energy from the previous inhabitants.
I love the idea of doing this because let’s face it, every time a guy turns out to be a jerk (like the gem who broke up with me in a text the day before Valentine’s day when he knew I was at work) you can’t just pack up and move! The only thing that makes me nervous is the salt in the corners… does it attract any kind of insects?
Hi Dia,
So sorry that jerk happend to you! I have never had an issue with insects and the salt.
Thanks for the tips about cleaning entrances – it sounds like great advice negative energies or not!
